On 30 September in Almaty, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, with the support of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a roundtable entitled “Kazakhstan’s Export Potential: Containerization as a Gateway to Global Markets.”
The roundtable in Almaty continued the systematic work to develop international transport and logistics cooperation initiated at the business forum in Brussels. At that event, A.P. Moller – Maersk and leading European companies outlined key areas for further cooperation, including expanding Kazakhstan’s export opportunities and promoting Kazakhstani products in international markets. The meeting in Almaty further advanced this dialogue by bringing together representatives of government agencies, international logistics companies, and Kazakhstani exporters.
The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, Kazakhstani manufacturers and exporters, as well as A.P. Moller – Maersk, one of the world’s leading companies in container shipping and integrated logistics.
Aibek Kapar, Acting Chief Executive Officer of JSC KTZ Express, and Ayhan Sedef, Managing Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Region at A.P. Moller – Maersk, presented joint logistics solutions aimed at expanding opportunities for Kazakhstani products to enter international markets, including China and Europe.
In his remarks, Aibek Kapar highlighted the continued development of Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics infrastructure, including the expansion of its own maritime fleet, fleet of container flatcars and air cargo capabilities, as well as the development of terminal projects in Kazakhstan and abroad at key points where cargo flows are formed and distributed.
“As the Head of State has noted, one of Kazakhstan’s strategic priorities is the continued development of the country’s transit and transport and logistics potential and the strengthening of its role as a major international logistics hub. Our task is to provide Kazakhstani exporters with clear, efficient and competitive logistics solutions that enable them to enter new markets. We are consistently developing infrastructure and international partnerships to provide businesses with access to key transport routes and global markets,” said Aibek Kapar.
Representatives of A.P. Moller – Maersk confirmed their interest in further developing joint services with JSC KTZ Express. Cooperation covers not only the maritime leg of transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route via the Black Sea, but also broader interaction on other international maritime routes using A.P. Moller – Maersk’s global network.
Particular attention during the meeting was given to the needs of Kazakhstani manufacturers and exporters. This format enables direct dialogue between participants across the export supply chain, from producers to international logistics operators and end markets.
During the roundtable, Kazakhstani exporters had the opportunity to directly raise current issues and needs related to delivering products to foreign markets, while representatives of JSC KTZ Express and A.P. Moller – Maersk discussed practical solutions aimed at improving the efficiency and competitiveness of Kazakhstan’s export logistics.
