Cooperation between KTZ and China State Railway: Talgat Aldybergenov meets with Wang Jinxi

Within the framework of the XL Meeting of the OSJD General Directors Conference, a meeting was held at KTZ headquarters between Talgat Aldybergenov, Head of KTZ, and Wang Jinxi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Member of the Board of Directors of China State Railway (CSR).

The parties highlighted the high efficiency of coordinated cooperation, which enables the consistent implementation of tasks aimed at developing the transit and transport potential of the two countries.

Sustainable growth is подтвержден by statistics: in the first quarter of 2026, transportation volumes increased by 9.3%, reaching 9.1 million tons. This underscores the growing demand for transport corridors passing through Kazakhstan and China.

Special attention during the talks was given to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR / Middle Corridor) and the digital transformation of logistics routes. In the first quarter of 2026, 125 container trains were transported via TITR, which is 34.4% higher than in the same period last year.

Significant progress has also been achieved in infrastructure expansion. The parties expressed mutual appreciation for the prompt work on agreeing the intergovernmental agreement on the construction of the Dostyk – Alashankou railway section and agreed to actively advance the approval of the project for the construction of the third border crossing Bakhty – Tacheng.

The synergy between KTZ and China State Railway serves as a key driver of economic growth for both countries, transforming geographical advantages into a powerful tool for trade integration between East and West.
